Never bothered looking at the news yesterday, which was great. So it wasn’t until this morning that I saw the bad guys were at it again with the chlorine, only this time they packed five 1,000-lb tanks onto a truck apparently targeting Ramadi police on March 23. Looks like they’re not worried about running out of chlorine. But this time the cops were on the ball, or the terrorist flubbed trying to blow it up.
I don’t know how near populated residential areas this attack was. This one clearly had the potential to bring about much more than coughing fits. I wonder if the IPs are equipped with protective masks?
More discussion at The Fourth Rail.
UPDATE: Yet another chlorine bomb found, but the locals are tattling on the terrorists now. The folks in Al Anbar are just not terror-friendly these days. (3/27/07)
Previous posts here and here. But what’s the big picture? The context of these attacks here, again at The Fourth Rail.
UPDATE: Another chlorine attack involving two SVBIEDs in Fallujah on 3/28/07. Numerous individuals with symptoms from chlorine but again no chlorine related deaths.
